Our House Is Your Home
Our House is a community hub based in the heart of Walton, North Liverpool. We are a warm and friendly space for people to come join in with the activities or just have a cuppa and meet with people.
Our House Walton Community Hub was set up in 2019 and is run by a team of dedicated and enthusiastic staff and volunteers who are passionate about helping to support the needs of people living in the community.
Offering practical and emotional support to women involved in sex working and substance use. Through our night time harm reduction outreach van, day time person centred support and evening women's groups we offer compassionate relational based support from first connection to recovery.
We run a variety of different exercise sessions to meet everyone's needs. This includes yoga and relaxation, chair based exercise and a women's only circuit. If your wanting to get fit, meet new friends or learn a new skill, get in touch.
We are there to help.
We offer mental health and wellbeing support including courses and counselling. We are here to help.
If you are struggling, you don't have to go through it alone, we are here to offer support and a listening ear to help support your current circumstances.
We want to provide the best service possible for those who use our services. We know that when we work with other specialist providers we are able to provide more holistic support to people and enable them to get help in more areas of life.

In August 2022, NHS Cheshire and Merseyside launched their Health and Wellbeing Fund for Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise Organisations in Liverpool. The fund aims to provide support for individuals in Liverpool communities who experience health inequalities and to improve how the NHS and VCFSE sector collaborate to support health and wellbeing.
Our House Walton is proud to offer our support through our Healthier Together Project. The Healthier Together project will focus on offering specialised interventions, courses, activities and support groups working together as a community to improve quality of life. Mental health and well-being support, counselling and support services will help those struggling the most to access essential mental health support and intervention to tackle feelings of loneliness, such as loneliness, depression and anxiety.

Hope Pantry began in 2020 and is open every Wednesday. A non means tested food hub were individuals and households can choose 10 or 15 branded items of shopping a week for a fraction of the retail price.
The Christmas fair and grotto has been open every year since 2020. and brings joy to all who attend. Charming artisan stalls are available for visitors to explore where they can indulge in festive treats and games. Santa is always present to meet the children and share precious moments with them and their families.
In 2023, Our House Community provided a number of courses to combat poor mental health. These courses provided were anxiety, confidence and self-esteem, depression and assertiveness. These courses have had made a lasting impact on our community members. In these courses, participants delved into invaluable insights, coping mechanisms, self-care practices and gained a deeper understanding of mental well-being.
Event in which over 200 members of the community attended to see creative artists show off their work, but more importantly the reason behind the work, to inspire people to see that there are alternative ways to express themselves, their emotions and improve mental health.
Patricia, who is a photographer, came into the hub and got to know the community. During her time here, she learnt about different community members lives and their connection to Our House Community. These stories were collated into a magazine attached with photos of community members displaying their journey at Our House Community. This was eventually exhibited at the Open Eye Gallery in May 2023
The Saudi society student group from the University of Liverpool visited Our House Community and celebrated Saudi culture with our community members. It was an incredible experience filled with love, laughter, dancing and fun. We look forward to seeing them return.
We worked with social prescribers and creative artists to provide a breast cancer awareness event which was hosted at Our House Community. This taught women between 50 and 71 how to properly check for breast cancer and allowed them to re-book a mammogram appointment if they had missed it.
We have taken community members on off site trips since 2020. In 2023, we visited the Manchester Christmas Markets and the Lake District. In 2024, we are soon visiting Skipton Markets!
We are committed to continually evaluating our operations in order to employ more environmentally friendly methods of providing the best service. We believe that each initiative that we pursue with the help of our community, no matter how small, helps to preserve our beautiful state for future generations.
We have 2 x 500 litre compost bins where the community can bring there vegetable peelings, fruit waste, tea bags, plant pruning's, grass cuttings and leaves and deposit it in the compost bins.
At Our House our main goal is to reduce isolation and poverty by providing spaces where people can find support, connection and belonging and a place where people support each other to make life easier for those who are part of Our House Community.
We make this happen by running different projects from our main Hub in Walton and through our various outreach projects reaching out to some of the most vulnerable in the wider Liverpool community.
Our House started in 2019 and keeps developing because our committed and passionate team of staff and volunteers care about our community and people we walk alongside. We have lots of activities, groups, courses, support and much more going on both at the hub and through our other projects.
