PEARLS STREET VOLUNTEER AGREEMENT
Pearls Street is our team working name until we relaunch officially
WHAT WE ASK OF OUR VOLUNTEERS
- To perform your volunteering role to the best of your ability and in accordance with the role description (please ask to see one if you haven’t got one).
- To follow procedures and standards as stated in the relevant policies, standards in our code of conduct and your agreed role. (Please ask for your role description if you need to see them.)
- To maintain the confidential information of the organisation and of those who use our services.
- To read all communication and updates associated with Pearls Street.
- Commit to attending ongoing supervision, training and team meeting dates.
- To communicate with team leaders and project leads regularly. Sending in reports after each activity, any concerns/feedback/risks (regarding teams or those we work with), safeguarding issues, anything significant.
- To fulfil all rota/time commitments and if you cannot fulfill please give us reasonable notice or make other arrangements wherever possible.
- To not consume alcohol for 12 hrs. prior to being on duty in your role on the team.
- To advise your team leader or project lead of any illnesses or medication being taken that could adversely affect your ability to fulfil your role.
- To respect Pearls Street team members, those we support and the local community.
- Strive to resolve any concerns fairly and reasonably, applying our complaints procedure when it’s needed.
- To not talk to the media about Pearls Street and refer the media to the Pearls Street office.
- To contact your project lead/volunteer co-ordinator with urgent matters or debriefing needs even outside of set supervision or meeting times.
For all new team members
- To complete our application process, to provide referees and to agree to a DBS (Disclosure & Barring service) check being carried out before commencement of volunteering.
- For all new team members -To complete a period of induction and training and commit to 18 months on team in order to build consistency and trust for those we work with.
WHAT OUR VOLUNTEERS CAN EXPECT OF US
- To communicate regularly to keep you updated with expectations for your role and any changes to the project.
- Provide support and feedback opportunities, including through supervision and debriefing
- Provide training relevant to your role. Required training and also responding to the needs of team members and those we work with.
- Explain the standards we expect for our services and to encourage and support you to achieve and maintain them.
- To repay any legitimate expenses incurred on behalf of the work you do for Pearls Street as agreed with Project Lead.
- To provide you with adequate information of our relevant policies and procedures.
- Respect and listen to your feedback, and keep you informed of any changes.
- To provide adequate insurance cover for volunteers whilst undertaking voluntary work.
- To ensure that all volunteers are dealt with in accordance with our equal opportunities policy.
- To put procedures and guidelines in place to create a safe working environment for our teams and those who use our services.
- Encourage a positive and supportive volunteering experience.
- Provide induction and ongoing training to meet the responsibilities of your role.

This agreement is in honour only. It is not intended to be a legally binding contract and either Our House or the volunteer can end the agreement at any time.
